Clyde Bergemann Power Group (“CBPG”) is a global business that supplies products, systems, solutions and after-market services to the power and environmental engineering markets. For thermal power plants, and in particular, coal-fired plants, industrial boilers and related combustion processes, CBPG provides products and solutions that contribute to:

  • Higher efficiency
  • Optimisation of combustion processes 
  • Clean energy, by reducing the harmful pollutants emitted by such industrial processes

Strategy

This is achieved through CBPG providing services in six strategic business fields:

  • Boiler Efficiency - “on-load” cleaning devices for removing combustion process related deposits from heat exchangers and the walls of boilers
  • Materials Handling - fly and bottom ash conveying systems as well as material injection technology and vacuum belt filters for gypsum dewatering
  • Air Pollution Control - technologies to control and reduce particulate and acid gas emission from the flue gases produced in combustion processes.
  • Energy Recovery - heat exchange devices to recover waste heat from exhaust gases, thereby lowering energy requirements and reducing fuel consumption.
  • Air Gas Handling - gas handling technology for coal-fired plants and gas turbine exhaust systems.
  • Firing Solutions - provides burners and heaters used within the combustion processes of various industries, including coal-gasification, steel and copper.

Locations

The majority of the revenues are from North and South America, Europe and Asia. 70% of revenues are generated from new equipment, both existing and new plants, with the remainder from aftermarket – spares, solutions and service.

Competitive position

The business serves a broad range of blue-chip customers across the world in the power generation (coal-fired and gas-fired), pulp & paper, waste & biomass, petrochemical, metallurgy and marine markets.

Management

The CBPG's management team is Franz Bartels (CEO) and Graham Lees, the CFO. Graham is a member of the CBC team.
