Gavin McCallum

Career History
Gavin brings extensive experience in the global energy business to CBC, having spent 15 years working for BP Plc. The last 6 years were spent in the low carbon power space where Gavin was a key player in the creation and growth of BP Alternative Energy, one of the world’s largest and most diversified renewable energy companies involving wind, solar, co-generation, gas/LNG power generation and carbon sequestration businesses. As Commercial Director for BP's US Alternative Energy business, he completed development and secured funding for $2b of investment in wind and thermal power activities totalling 1500MW.
Prior to BP Alternative Energy, Gavin was Operations Manager for BP’s gasoline retailing business in the US Midwest with $600m turnover p.a. and Executive Assistant to one of BP’s top Executives. His early years in BP were spent in various commercial roles in Oil Exploration and Production in Aberdeen, London and the Middle East.
Role at Clyde Blowers
Gavin is Investment Director at CBC and joined the team in January 2010. He is responsible for developing and implementing growth strategies in existing portfolio companies such as David Brown Gear Systems in the wind and solar markets. Additionally he is responsible for the coordination of CBC’s deal origination activities for future fund investment.
Qualifications
Gavin holds an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he was Sloan Fellow and a MA (Hons) in economics from the University of Aberdeen.
