Graham joined Clyde Blowers plc in 1996 as Group Financial Controller & Company Secretary. He was previously a Senior Manager with Ernst & Young where his experience was in the provision of audit services to clients in a wide variety of industries, including engineering, transportation, electronics, financial services and healthcare. In 1990, Graham spent one year as a consultant in Ernst & Young’s Privatisation Services team in London where he worked with a multi-disciplined team advising clients on the financial, legal and commercial aspects of the privatisation of the Water Industry in the UK. Graham was also a member of Ernst & Young’s national training team for a number of years.
Graham has played a significant role in the development of Clyde Blowers, from the acquisition and integration of the Bergemann and Copes Vulcan businesses in 1996 and 1997, the public to private transaction in 1999, and the de-merger of the Clyde Bergemann Power Group and Clyde Blowers businesses in 2001.
In 2003, Graham became Chief Financial Officer of Clyde Bergemann Power Group. In 2005, he led the negotiations on the secondary buyout of this business which led to Deutsche Beteiligungs becoming co-investors. Since 2005, Graham has led a number of acquisition and integration projects for Clyde Bergemann Power Group, including Environmental Elements in the US in 2005, Senior Thermal in Australia in 2006, Delta Ducon in the US in 2007 and Bachmann Industries in the US in 2009. These acquisitions have helped to expand CBPG’s product offerings, geographic coverage and market sectors.
During the recent economic downturn, Graham’s focus has been on ensuring that CBPG has had sufficient working capital funding to ensure that key business development initiatives have continued, thereby ensuring that CBPG is best placed to continue its organic growth over the next few years. Graham is also a member of the Board of ClydeUnion Pumps. Graham is an FSA Approved Person.
Graham qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ICAS) in 1984 and has a Bachelor of Accountancy degree from the University of Glasgow.
