Career History

Keith Gibson trained as a chartered accountant (ICAS) with Arthur Andersen in audit and insolvency before joining Buchler Phillips (Kroll), where he focused on insolvency and turnaround work including financial investigations on behalf of banks. His experience includes the Robert Maxwell and Leyland DAF administrations as well as various long term secondments including Vodafone (1 year business process re-engineering project), FennoScandia Bank (1 year running a problem debt portfolio) and Quaker Oats (4 months assisting the new Finance Director).

He spent 5 years as a director with PricewaterhouseCoopers and two years as partner at Ernst & Young advising primarily on mid-market private equity transactions in the Scottish market. Keith’s experience there includes the acquisition and disposal of Phillips Auction Group for 3i (£30m and £80m respectively) and the disposal of KSCL Limited for 3i and Royal Bank Private Equity (£170m).

Keith joined The Royal Bank of Scotland (“RBS”) in 2004 as Head of Group Corporate Finance where he was responsible for all merger and acquisition activity across the group and for finance related non-M&A project work. He led the $3.2bn investment by a consortium led by RBS into Bank of China as a pre-IPO strategic partner and he also led the Group team in the $10.5bn acquisition of Charter One in the USA. Keith was a member of the Finance Board, led the Group Finance Operations team, sat on the Group Asset and Liability Committee and was a member of both the Group and the Corporate Markets Credit Committees at RBS.

Role at Clyde Blowers

Keith joined CBC in 2007 having advised Clyde Blowers on its acquisition of the Weir Pumps Limited asset. He was instrumental in the raising of CBC II and the subsequent investment activity, whilst building a fund team capable of supporting the future needs of CBC. His responsibilities include managing the investment and administrative processes of CBC and playing an active role in managing the strategic direction of the portfolio assets. Keith is an FSA Approved Person.

Qualifications

Keith holds a Bachelor of Accountancy degree, with Honours, from the University of Glasgow and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.
