Career History
Matthias joined CBC from UBS where he spent five years in the Swiss based corporate finance department where he was advising in a number of domestic and cross border M&A transactions on buy- and sell-side as well as in share placements and equity raisings. His private and publicly listed corporate clients were mostly in the capital goods/industrial sector.
Role at Clyde Blowers
Matthias joined Clyde Blowers Capital in June 2011 as an Associate Director in Zurich. His day-to-day responsibilities include deal origination and execution with a focus on continental Europe. He is also involved in the portfolio management and the corporate development support of the individual portfolio assets in operational finance, strategic development and M&A sourcing and execution.
Qualifications
Prior to UBS Matthias completed a PhD at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich in the field of high-tech entrepreneurship researching start-ups in the technology space as well as lecturing classes in marketing, finance and strategy. Prior to this Matthias graduated in mechanical engineering from Michigan Tech and the University of Stuttgart with a focus on engineering dynamics and fluid mechanics and machinery. Alongside his studies Matthias completed a number of internships in R&D, manufacturing as well as in management consultancy in Germany, Austria, France and Switzerland.
