Career History

Nairn trained as a chartered accountant with Ernst & Young in their Entrepreneurial Services team, before joining the M&A team advising on private equity fundraisings and mid-market private equity acquisitions and disposals. His relevant experience includes the £14m MBO of PSL, an oil and gas services company, the c£15m MBO of a paper mill and the £12m fundraising for a SIM card manufacturer.

He spent over three years at Noble & Company, an investment bank, in their corporate finance team undertaking Main Market listings, placings, admissions to trading / fundraisings on AIM and disposals and acquisitions of private companies. In addition, he carried out capital restructurings for AIM traded companies as well as Rule 3 advisory work and was a retained corporate adviser to many Main List companies, nominated adviser to many AIM traded companies and retained sponsor to many VCT fundraisings.

Nairn joined Bank of Scotland Corporate as an Associate Director in Joint Ventures in the investment management team managing the debt and equity investments in the housebuilding sector where he project managed the follow-on deals and the debt and equity syndications as well as restructurings of both the investment and leveraged position.

Role at Clyde Blowers

Nairn advised Clyde Blowers with the acquisition of the Fluid & Power division of Textron Inc. He then moved into an Investment Director role with current responsibility for the Maag Group and Clyde Blowers’ finance function. Nairn is an FSA Approved Person.

Qualifications

Nairn holds a LLB (Hons), from the University of Glasgow, is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and is an Associate of the Securities and Investment Institute.
