Shauna Powell

Career History

Following her legal degree (LLB (Hons) University of Glasgow) Shauna Powell trained as a solicitor with Maclay Murray & Spens (“Maclays”) in Glasgow where she dual qualified in both Scotland and England & Wales.  During that period she also became a Notary Public. On qualifying she specialised in corporate law focusing on private equity and venture capital M&A. During this time Shauna worked with Clyde Blowers including the refinancing of Clyde Bergemann with Sawmill Capital (following which she was seconded to Clyde Blowers for a period) and the sale of CleanCut to MI Swaco.

After 6 years in Glasgow with Maclays, Shauna moved to Aberdeen to open a new office in 2003 where she focused on private equity, acting primarily for 3i Group plc.

She joined Clyde Blowers in August 2006 focusing on M&A activity, including the acquisition of all portfolio assets for Fund II and Fund III, and the disposals of both ClydeUnion and Maag Group. Shauna was also part of the team that led the fund raising processes for CBC II and CBC III. 

Shauna is primarily responsible for all legal activities across Clyde Blowers and for coordinating our regulatory and compliance responsibilities (Compliance and Money Laundering Officer). Shauna is also a member of the Fund Leadership Team and the Investment Committee.
