Clyde Bergemann Power Group

Clyde Bergemann was formed in 2001 following the demerger of the “power” related business of Clyde Blowers. In the 1990’s, a number of  Boiler Cleaning Equipment businesses were consolidated to make it the world market leader in that niche market.

The strategy continued through the 2000’s to:

  • Add complimentary ancillary products around the combustion process
  • Achieve product leadership in its addressable markets
  • Increase global market coverage
  • Focus on “farming” the installed base of equipment across the globe

Fund II acquired a minority interest in Clyde Bergemann in 2008. By the time of exit, Clyde Bergemann was a $450m Revenue global business selling a range of products and services to the fossil-fired power generation, pulp & paper, petrochemical and biomass sectors.

Exit

The minority interest in Clyde Bergemann (0.3%) was exited in April 2016, the interest being acquired by a fellow minority shareholder, Georgenbach Limited.
