ClydeUnion Pumps was formed in Fund II from the merger of Clyde Pumps and Union Pump in November 2008 and by the time of exit in 2011 it had become the seventh largest pump company in the world.
Clyde Pumps was acquired from Weir Group in 2007 and warehoused by Clyde Blowers pending the raising of Fund II and Union Pump was acquired from Textron in 2008.
The company offered a full range of single and multistage centrifugal and reciprocating pumps and packages through a global sales force and operations footprint with the strategy of the business centred around

- Product leadership; and
- Operational excellence
The business was ultimately exited in December 2011 to SPX (a listed US industrial conglomerate).
