Corporate Social Responsibility
Dyslexia Scotland aims to inspire and enable people with dyslexia, regardless of age and abilities, to reach their potential in education, employment and life. Based in Stirling, they provide national services for people with dyslexia and those who support them, as well as information, advice and support through their network of volunteer-led branches across Scotland.
Grants were gratefully received from Jim McColl and Clyde Blowers Capital from 2012-2016 by Dyslexia Scotland towards the salary and overhead costs of the Volunteers Manager post.
The Volunteers Manager is responsible for the recruitment, training and support of the volunteers who work at a national level for Dyslexia Scotland.
The volunteers complement and add value to the work of the small team of six paid staff. There are currently 106 national volunteer roles involved as Careers Advisers, Helpline Advisers, Ambassadors, Blue ribbon campaign supporters, Administration, Events, Publications, Social Media, Adult Network, Resource Centre, Fundraising collectors (at football matches), Fundraisers (raising money through sponsored events such as half marathons), Book-keeping and Photography.
