Newlands Junior College
The Newlands Junior College delivers a new form of education by providing alternative curricular programmes aimed at young persons who may be at risk of disengaging from their current secondary school education but still have the potential to become successful apprentices, useful employees and good citizens.
Each year, the college aims to recruit 30 pupils from local schools and put them through an alternative approach to their education in years S3 and S4 which, in addition to academic subjects, will combine vocational training and motivational training with sports, nutrition and outdoor activities.
Jim McColl and Clyde Blowers Capital have made significant contributions towards the general running of the school and remain committed to contributing to the continued success of the alternative junior college.
